The last few weeks have been pretty busy between school and working with the Red Cross for my Civic Engagement Project for my Communication 426 class. So my outdoor adventures have been cut to help create more time to be able to finish my tasks.
I decided since we had a blizzard Tuesday and Wednesday I would take advantage of the snow day and enjoy the outdoors. I needed to get back into the woods and check my trail cameras so I could see what kind of animal activity had been in the area. The only way to do this with this much snow is to either use snowshoes or have a snowmobile, well I do not have a snowmobile so my option was to use the snowshoes.
I spent the day walking through the woods and enjoying the day. I made it to my trail cameras and pulled the cards then made my way to one of my deer hunting shacks where I could sit and look at the cards on my computer and take a break from the heavy exercise. The trail cameras I was using at the moment were some new ones from Christmas. I wanted to check and see the quality of the pictures they took. As it worked out they took excellent pictures in the day time and in the dark. I ended up with a few pictures, which was nothing like it was two weeks ago. Two weeks ago I ended up with over one hundred pictures on one trail camera.
After resting for awhile and looking at pictures it was time to continue walking through the snow. After another hour or so of snowshoeing it was time to head back to the truck and go home. My body could take no more and it was lunch time!
